LEAVE IT CUE
The Leave It cue is for something that is not the dog’s business or the dog should not go on to put the item in their mouth.
(Pile of shoes by the door, rubbish or dog poo in the hedge while out walking, trying to sniff a passing dog or trying to play with another dog while out walking, training etc.)
We will start from the beginning with an explanation of what we are teaching the dog. We will start with some easy exercises where the dog is rewarded for a correct choice. We will then do other practices that get increasingly harder; passing items on the ground, passing hidden yummy or gross items in a hedge setting just like a real life walk. We will also discuss muzzle training for dogs that consume dangerous items while outside. I will show types of muzzles that are and are/are not recommended and some resources on how to start with muzzle training.
Class will likely be 90 minutes, class size for dogs is limited to 8 dogs. (the cost with a dog is 5,000)
